Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Last updated 10 June 2026
This document covers both how Tell (the “App”) handles your information (Part 1) and the rules for using it (Part 2). Tell is provided by LifeWheel (“we”, “us”). By using the App you accept both parts. Questions: alex@lifewheel.us.
Part 1 — Privacy Policy
1. What Tell Does
Tell analyzes a conversation you choose to share — pasted text or screenshots — and returns an AI-generated read: what the messages likely mean, who is more invested, and how you might reply. Everything in this policy follows from that one feature.
2. Information You Submit
The App sends data to our servers only when you ask for a read. A read request can include:
- Conversation text you paste.
- Screenshots you select (up to 6), compressed on your device before upload.
- Optional context you type (for example “talking for three weeks”) and the question you pick (for example “are they into me”).
- Optional samples of your own messages, if you choose to provide them so suggested replies match your voice.
- Previous reads in the same thread, when you ask a follow-up question.
- App language (English, Russian, Ukrainian, or Turkish), so the result comes back in your language.
Nothing is uploaded in the background. If you never request a read, no conversation data ever leaves your device.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
- No account, registration, name, email address, or phone number — the App works anonymously.
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA), device fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking.
- No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs inside the App.
- No contacts, precise location, microphone, or camera access.
- Photos are accessed only through the iOS photo picker, which shares only the specific images you select.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the content of a read request for exactly one purpose: generating your result. The request travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our backend on Google Cloud, is forwarded to the AI model, and the result is returned to your device. We do not use your content for advertising, profiling, or building marketing audiences, and we do not sell it to anyone.
5. AI Processing (Google Gemini)
Reads are generated by Google Gemini, acting as our service provider. Under the Gemini API terms that apply to our use:
- Google does not use your prompts or the responses to train or improve its AI models.
- Google may retain API inputs for a limited period (currently up to 55 days) solely to detect abuse and policy violations, after which they are deleted.
Google’s handling of this data is described in the Gemini API Additional Terms and the Google Privacy Policy. The App also shows you this disclosure, and asks for your consent, before your first read.
6. Storage and Retention
On your device. Finished reads (up to the 20 most recent) are stored locally in the App’s private storage, shared only with Tell’s own share extension on the same device. They are never synced to our servers. You can delete any read, or all of them, inside the App at any time; deleting the App removes them entirely.
On our servers. Your conversation content is processed transiently to produce the result and is not stored by us after the response is returned. We keep no database of conversations and no history tied to you. Standard infrastructure logs (timestamps, response status, IP address) are retained briefly by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
7. Who We Share Data With
We do not rent or sell your personal information. Data is shared only with:
- Google — hosts our backend (Google Cloud Functions) and provides the Gemini model, as described above.
- Apple — processes subscription payments through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details; the App only learns whether a subscription is active.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
- Business transfers — if Tell is acquired or merged, information may transfer to the successor under protections at least as strong as this policy.
8. Messages From Other People
Conversations you submit naturally include messages written by someone else. We process that content only as part of the read you requested, do not use it to identify or contact anyone, and do not retain it after processing, as described above. You are responsible for making sure that sharing a conversation is lawful where you live (see Part 2 — Terms of Use).
9. Subscriptions
Tell offers an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple. Billing, renewal, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. The only subscription information stored by the App is your entitlement status, kept on your device. Subscription terms are in Part 2, Section 8.
10. International Transfers
Our servers run on Google Cloud in the United States. If you use the App from the EEA, the United Kingdom, or other regions with data-transfer rules, your read requests are processed in the US under safeguards Google provides for its cloud services, including standard contractual clauses.
11. Your Rights and Choices
- Delete your reads at any time inside the App (individually or all at once), or by deleting the App.
- Stop all processing simply by not requesting reads — nothing is sent without your action.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (EEA/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because Tell keeps no accounts and retains no conversation data server-side, we usually hold nothing about you to produce — but email us and we will verify and respond within 30 days.
- California. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The only categories we process are the content you submit for a read (transiently) and network identifiers in routine server logs.
12. Children
Tell is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App, contact us and we will delete any associated data we hold.
13. Security
All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Reads stored on your device are protected by iOS app sandboxing and device encryption. Because we keep no central store of conversations, there is no server-side archive of your chats to breach.
Part 2 — Terms of Use
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and LifeWheel (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the Tell mobile application and related services (the “App”). By downloading or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms also serve as the end-user license agreement (EULA) for the App. The Privacy Policy in Part 1 of this document describes how we handle your data and is part of these Terms.
2. What Tell Is
Tell uses artificial intelligence to analyze conversations you choose to submit — pasted text or screenshots — and returns an interpretation: what the messages may mean, signals about interest and investment, and suggested replies. Tell is an informational and entertainment tool that offers one possible perspective on a conversation.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the App. By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement.
4. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service and these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
5. Your Content
You keep all rights to the conversations, screenshots, and other content you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely to provide the service — generating the read you requested — as described in Part 1. You are responsible for Your Content and you confirm that:
- you have the right to submit it, and doing so does not violate any law or anyone’s rights where you live;
- it does not include content involving minors;
- it does not include another person’s government IDs, financial account details, health records, or similar sensitive documents.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, stalk, threaten, or surveil any person;
- use the App to deceive, manipulate, or defraud anyone;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or prompts behind the App;
- probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with our servers or access them by any means other than the App itself;
- resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as your own.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.
7. AI Output — Important Disclaimer
Reads are generated by an AI model. They can be wrong. They may misjudge tone, miss context, or state things with confidence that turn out to be inaccurate. A read is one interpretation, not a fact, and other interpretations of the same conversation are always possible.
Tell does not provide professional advice of any kind — it is not therapy, counseling, psychological, medical, legal, or financial advice, and no professional relationship is created by using it. Do not rely on the App as your sole basis for decisions about relationships, safety, or wellbeing. If you are in distress or in an unsafe situation, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services. You alone are responsible for your decisions and for any messages you send.
8. Subscriptions and Billing
Some features require a paid subscription purchased through your Apple ID:
- Auto-renewal. Tell offers an auto-renewing subscription (currently weekly). The price is shown in the App before purchase and is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Free trial. When a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Renewal. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current price.
- Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Price changes. If the price changes, Apple will notify you in advance as required, and the new price applies only if you consent or continue the subscription after notice.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, branding, text, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for Your Content, nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reads will be accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or relationship outcomes, arising from or related to your use of the App — including decisions you make or messages you send based on a read. Our total liability for all claims relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the App, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it (cancel any subscription separately, as described in Section 8). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5, 7, and 9–15) survive.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence provides otherwise. Before filing a claim, please contact us — most issues can be resolved informally.
15. Apple App Store Terms
Because the App is distributed through the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- These Terms are between you and us only — not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App; we are solely responsible for it.
- If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer-protection claims.
- In case of any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual-property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for its investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms (for example, your wireless data agreement) when using the App.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Changes to This Document
We may update the Privacy Policy or the Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date; material changes will be highlighted in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept them.
